The transfer permit
The transfer permit is a permit that is provided for the temporary transfer or use of a vehicle, and it includes a set of transfer badges and motor vehicle liability insurance.
The transfer permit is issued on a per-vehicle basis and is provided on the basis of an application to the applicant at an inspection site that provides registration services or at specific Finnish customs (External link) sites.
The transfer permit can be issued for vehicles that
- have not been registered for the first time
- have been decommissioned
- have been banned from use or driving in such cases where the vehicle is to be transported to a repair shop or for inspection
The transfer permit must be present when the vehicle is used in traffic.
